The new Coolpix S50 features 7.2-megapixel performance and a 3x optical Zoom-Nikkor glass lens. Optical VR Image Stabilization technology minimizes the effect of camera shake. The huge, bright, high resolution 3.0-inch LCD offers 170-degree wide angle-of-view, making it simple to compose and share pictures. High ISO up to1600 allows for shooting in lower light.

What Digital CameraDespite a few shortcomings, the S50c has a lot to recommend it – its image quality in particular. If the Wi-Fi option isn’t something you envisage using, then going for the S50 instead will save you £40. |

Digital Camera ReviewThe Nikon Coolpix S50 produces very good image and color fidelity in a stylish compact digital camera, and the big 3 inch monitor makes smaller monitors seem obsolete by comparison. While lacking manual controls, the S50 offers new photographers a user-friendly device whose overall performance can only enhance the confidence of novice shooters. At the same time, more experienced shooters who need a reliable, no-frills camera with some quality creative features won’t be barking up the wrong tree if they choose the S50. |

TechgageOverall, this is a packed camera that’s worth your time if your goal is to get the smallest camera possible without sacrificing too much quality. If you are after the best quality for the money, you would be better off looking at other models. |

CNETWhile it takes good pictures and it’s nice to be able to access private Wi-Fi access points, the lack of a browser keeps this camera from rising to the next level. |

PC MagNikon continues to lead with its wireless digital cameras. That said, the company’s cameras are still a bit tricky to use, and the Coolpix s50c is a perfect example of this. In addition, it won’t win any awards for performance. |

Steve's DigicamsWhile the Nikon Coolpix S50 offers some very appealing features, I was a bit disappointed with its shooting performance results. It does have the ability to capture some very nice photos, however trying to shoot a fast moving child while running through the house can be challenging. |

Tech2.comI think the camera failed to perform up to the mark. The lack of detailing and sharpness leave a lot more to desire for. Although the S50 is packed with a lot of features, it still down-performs in basic point-and-shoot category. In style, the camera wins hands-on though. |
