Steve's DigicamsBottom line – Like its big brother the A540, the PowerShot A530 is an excellent entry-level point-n-shoot model. The only annoyance I found was the flash recharge time and the fact that the LCD goes blank while the flash is charging. |

Let's Go DigitalThe new Canon Powershot A530 camera expands upon Canon’s success as A-series models have captured the number one digital camera position for three years consecutively. The Canon Powershot A530 can brilliantly capture fleeting images in the blink of an eye. |

Cameras.co.ukConsidering the price of the Canon Powershot A530 I think it offers very good value for money. The camera is not perfect, but the picture quality is much better than most cameras in this price range are capable of producing. Throw in the manual exposure mode and the camera is well worth the money. |

Digital Camera ReviewThe Canon PowerShot A530 is a capable digital camera with a respectable zoom range. It is a good choice for a traveler both in size and power source as AA/LR6 batteries are readily available almost anywhere. Canon’s choice of the SD/MMC memory card format is also a pleasant standardization. |

Imaging ResourceIts combination of automatic and manual features make the Canon A530 very approachable for novices, but still interesting for experienced users, the net result being a camera that will satisfy a broad range of interests and provide a good path for novice users to expand their photographic horizons as their experience grows. |

Good Gear GuideWe were expecting big things from the Powershot A530 and had already started to compose a long list of superlatives to describe the performance when we actually looked at the results. Things didn’t turn out as expected. |

CNETThough the Canon PowerShot A530 is a modest 5-megapixel step down from its 6-megapixel sibling, the PowerShot A540, it still has almost all of the same handy features. Unfortunately, it lacks the zippy performance and the large LCD that help elevate the A540 above the crowd. |

Gadget SpeakI was perfectly happy with all the images I took in natural light both in ‘Auto’ and those of the specialist 18 shooting modes I tested. I am not sure what to make of this unit, surely it is more than a novice unit but then why give only a 16MB MMC card, using two standard ‘AA’ batteries again tend to say novice. |
