We had to fight hard to find anything to criticise about this camera: if you want a beautiful, high-quality compact then buy the IXUS 60.

Lightweight and feature packed, the fashionable Canon PowerShot SD600 Digital ELPH can easily slip into a pocket or purse, making it the perfect on-the-go digital camera. It offers a nice combination of features and performance in a stylish, portable package. If you are looking for an ultra-compact camera that captures great images to take with you anywhere you may roam, this is it.

As I’ve said before in this review, if you want a slightly snazzier looking Digital ELPH with a larger screen, spend the extra $50 and buy the SD630 which has a 3-inch screen compared to the SD600’s 2.5-inch display. These minor quibbles shouldn’t prevent you from considering the SD600 though, which is an excellent camera in its own right, and deserving of a Dave’s Pick.

The Canon IXUS 60 is a well made digital camera and take a great photo. It is certainly one of the best pocket sized cameras on the market. Images are sharp and colours are strong. The only real drawback I can come up with is I would like to have see a quicker shutter response.

Canon has once again produced a camera that performs extremely well, provides a simple to use and satisfying shooting experience and that can produce nice results.

Canon’s IXUS 60 is a competant compact camera. It has all the elements you’d expect from such a product, including above average image quality, a decent set of features and a slim design. While you won’t be blown away by its performance, colour reproduction is excellent and if you’re looking for a basic point and shoot then this model should be a consideration.
